Wichita police have arrested a department employee on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said that officers contacted the 38-year-old employee on Saturday after receiving a tip about his alleged involvement with illegal narcotics.

The suspect was identified through booking records as Chad Hobbick. He did not appear on the Sedgwick County Jail's website Monday.

Davidson said the four-year employee worked in a support role for the Support Services Division and was not a police officer. He resigned from the department the day of his arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
