WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Department of Transportation will be closing two ramps on northbound I-135 starting Tuesday for a patching project.

KDOT said Friday that they will be closing the entrance ramp on E Central Avenue and the exit 7B ramp to E 9th Street N of northbound I-135 beginning July 2.

The ramp closures are part of the northbound I-135 patching project from 2nd Street to 17th Street. Drivers will need to find alternate routes.

It is estimated that the maintenance on these ramps will be completed in late July, conditions permitting.

Dondlinger and Sons Construction, of Wichita, is the primary contractor for the $1.7 million project.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.gov or call 511.
