WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police have arrested a suspect for allegedly shooting 27-year-old woman and crashing during a pursuit on Thursday.

Sedgwick County Jail records show 24-year-old Quistion Wade was booked for three counts of aggravated battery, one count of fleeing law enforcement, and four holds for another agency.

Officers responded at around 7:15 a.m. Thursday to the report of a shooting in the 600 block of North New York, near Central and I-135. They arrived to find a woman inside the home with a non-fatal gunshot wound to her lower extremities. She was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

WPD says investigators and patrol officers followed up on leads and identified a suspect. A short time later, officers located Wade, prompting a brief vehicle pursuit. During the pursuit, the suspect's vehicle collided with two other vehicles near 7300 East Kellogg, rendering the suspect’s vehicle disabled. The suspect ran but was quickly apprehended.

EMS attended to one of the drivers involved in the collision as a precautionary measure, while the other driver declined medical treatment. 

Regarding the three counts of aggravated battery, Wade faces one count for the shooting and two for allegedly intentionally driving his vehicle into the two other vehicles.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Wade is on Community Corrections for a prior burglary conviction in Butler County.
