WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police say they arrested a 19-year-old suspect who crashed his car at a local cemetery, causing damage to headstones and a fence.

Officers responded at around 12:45 a.m. Sunday to a crash in the area of 9th Street North and Hillside. They arrived to find a Chevy Camaro that had been involved in a single-vehicle crash at the Highland Cemetery at 1005 North Hillside.

WPD spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said the car collided with multiple headstones and the fence to the grounds. Speed and alcohol appear to have contributed to the crash, he said.

The driver, identified through booking records as Ethan Holt, was arrested for driving under the influence and reckless driving.
