EMPORIA, Kan. (KAKE) - No injuries were reported after a minor derailment of an Amtrak train moving through Emporia early Saturday.

KVOE radio reports that the incident happened just before 4 a.m., when police were notified of a possible derailment near the east 6th Avenue viaduct. Nearly 160 passengers and 20 crew members were on board the train. No injuries were reported.

The Emporia Police Department posted about the derailment, saying "The Emporia Police Department helped 177 individuals in leaving the Amtrak train that derailed earlier today, ensuring the safe evacuation of all passengers."
