WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Mark your calendars and prepare for the next Frontiers in Flight air show at McConnell Air Force Base featuring the Blue Angels this summer. It's free to the public.

The two-day event is on August 24 and 25. According to the U.S. Navy Blue Angels schedule, the squadron will take to the sky for both days of the event, which also includes a wide variety of civilian and military static aircraft. The last time the Blue Angels were in Wichita was in 2007.

The 2022 air show was McConnell's first airshow in four years. Between 60,000 and 70,000 people attended, which didn't account for those who watched by parking off of Pawnee or Rock Road or those watching from the Kansas Aviation Museum.

Additional details about the 2024 airshow were not immediately available.

This is the Blue Angels' 78th air show season. They Blue Angels are scheduled to perform 66 demonstrations at 33 locations in 2024.
