WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A local business is changing the way it operates after a man walked in and held up the place with a gun.

The robbery was caught on camera, and now police need help catching him.

A-OK Cash Center store manager Martin Swanson is tired of the crime.

"No one, no one should have to experience that," said Swanson.

Monday night, April 8, around 6:45 a man in a mask rode up on a 10-speed bike, walked into the store near Central and West, and pulled out a gun. The video shows it all. You can see the clerk quickly comply, handing over more than $2,000 in cash.

"You can't have someone with a firearm doing stuff like that,” said Swanson. “Let alone having someone get robbed. Yes, they've got to get him picked up."

Because of this robbery, A-OK Cash Center has changed the way it does business. After 5:00 the front door will be locked. You can only do business by the drive-thru.

Swanson says his employees were shaken, traumatized really, by the robber. Investigators hope someone will recognize him.

"The suspect is masked, wearing glasses,” said Crime Stoppers Coordinator Kris Gupilan. “You can still kind of see his face definition through the mask. His shoes are very distinctive, his bag, his clothing, the bicycle he's riding."

Swanson and Wichita police are offering his employees counseling because of the robbery, and now, they all want this guy caught.

"I just want him picked up and dealt with,” said Swanson. “I want him off the street and dealt with. I just want it taken care of."

If you recognize the robber or know anything about this case, call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 or scan the QR Code. You could be eligible to receive a cash reward.
