JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - Interstate 35 has reopened in both directions near Gardner after a suspect was taken into custody after shots were fired during a police pursuit.

ABC affiliate KMBC-TV reports the pursuit began in Franklin County, with a suspect vehicle crashing at I-35 and Moonlight Road on the edge of Gardner. Shots were fired at deputies after the crash, according to Kansas Highway Patrol.

No members of law enforcement were injured.
