Skeletal human remains found in Lansing have been identified

LANSING, Kan. (KAKE) - Human remains that were found in a wooded area of Lansing have been identified as a missing person from Leavenworth County.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation worked with the Lansing Police Department to identify the remains as Derrick Collins. Collins had been reported missing from Leavenworth in June of 2022. 

There were no indications of trauma on his body and police do not suspect foul play.
