PAWNEE COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - One person has been arrested in connection to a shooting that left a man dead near Larned on Saturday.

Around 5 p.m., emergency dispatch was notified of a shooting that had just occurred at a property on K-19 south of Larned. The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Department, Larned Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol and Pawnee County EMS responded to the scene where they discovered a man who was shot.  The man was transported to the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital, but later died from their injuries.

Michael Reynolds, 67 of Larned, was taken into custody at the scene without incident, on preliminary charges of Intentional Murder in the Second Degree and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  He is being held at the Pawnee County Jail.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is assisting in the investigation at the request of the Pawnee County Sheriff, and a formal autopsy has been ordered. Special agents from the KBI processed the crime scene.
