WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Two Texas men were indicted by a federal grand jury in Wichita on Wednesday, charging them in connection with a bank robbery.

According to court documents, 18-year-old Demond M. Johnson and 25-year-old Ryan D. Smith, both of Houston, Texas, are charged with one count of bank robbery. The defendants are accused of robbing the Credit Union of America on South Ridge Road in October of 2023.

Police said two people were captured on security camera footage robbing the Credit Union of America in the 200 block of S. Ridge Rd. at around 12:50 p.m. on October 17. 

If convicted, both men face up to 20 years in prison. 

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Wichita Police Department are investigating the case.
