WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Teachers, friends, and family have gathered to walk in memory of a teenager who police say was shot and killed by his mother.

Thursday night they walked to McCollom Elementary for 14-year-old Claude Hodges and teachers will be placing a bench in front of the school in his honor.

"I would love to see the kids when they get out of here, playing on it, jumping on it, running around it, it's something my son would like. Didn't matter what age, he just had a way with them," said Claude Hodges Sr.

Kylee Hodges, Claude Jr.'s mother, has been charged with his murder after police found her in her apartment with a gun and Claude's body.
