Two injured, one critically, after crash in northwest Wichita
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - One person was rushed to the hospital following a crash in northwest Wichita on Sunday evening.
Police say just after 6 p.m. Sunday, emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of North Hoover and West 29th Street N in Wichita for a two-vehicle crash.
A spokesman for the Wichita Police Department said their preliminary investigation on the crash revealed that the driver of a red Ranger truck was traveling eastbound on 29th Street when the driver ran a stop sign and crashed into another car.
The driver of the Ranger was ejected from the vehicle after it flipped multiple times before coming to a stop. He was awake and talking to crews on the scene and transported to a local hospital in critical condition for his injuries, according to police.
The driver of the other car suffered minor injuries and refused EMS treatment, police said.
While police said speed was a factor in the crash, it is unknown at this time if alcohol was involved. The crash remains under investigation.
