Kansas man sentenced to life in prison for murder of his mother
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A man from Goddard has been sentenced to life in prison for the first-degree murder of his mother.
On October 6, 2021, the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a welfare check in the 15300 block of West U.S. 54. After receiving no answer at the door or by phone and checking local hospitals, deputies forced entry into the home and found 67-year-old Denyce Briet dead on the floor. Her son, Kyle Romey, was arrested later that day near Taft and Water in Wichita.
A jury found Romey guilty and he was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 653 months.
