Chicken N Pickle preps for big crowd for Monday night Chiefs game
WICHITA, KAN. (KAKE) - Many Kansas City fans in Wichita are set to fill up bars and restaurants Monday night for the game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"It's a rematch for the Super Bowl. It's a big game. The Chiefs have a little momentum back. So we're just gonna have fun," says Chicken N Pickle Assistant General Manager Jeff Knott.
Chicken N Pickle opened in Wichita in 2019 and has since become a hangout for Chiefs fans on game day.
Knott expects a big crowd for a Monday night, and said that the staff will be ready for a party.
"It's gonna be great," Knott said. "We're gonna have our DJ here. We have drink specials, and we'll give away raffle prizes at the end of every quarter, up until the fourth quarter. So it should be a lot of fun."
The Chiefs stand at the top of the AFC West with a 7-2 record.
Fans in Wichita are excited to see if the team can hold its own at Arrowhead against the team it beat in the Super Bowl last season.
"Living here you kind of become a Chiefs fan over time," says Chiefs fan Trevor Sagehorn. "So I do wish the best for the chiefs. I'm hoping they can perform under the pressure as they do. And as they have always been performing under pressure recently."
Knott is happy that Chicken N Pickle continues to bring in good business even after the weather gets too cold to play pickleball.
"The Chiefs game does a good job of getting a lot of people in the door and then all we can hope is that we do a good job and make them want to come back because we do have a lot to offer whether you know it's ice skating, pickleball you know, reservation type of Christmas bar type stuff we do almost everything here," Knott said.
You can catch the Chiefs take on the Eagles on Monday Night Football on KAKE-TV.
Coverage begins at 6:30, with the kickoff at 7:15.
