Friday Football Blitz - Sub-State (11/17)
Wichita, Kan. (KAKE) - Every high school football player in Kansas fights for a chance to practice during the week of Thanksgiving. If a team is doing that, it means its got a chance to play for a state title that Saturday. To do that - teams need a Sub-State win and that went down Friday all across the state.
In the game almost everyone had eyes on, Cheney once again erased a double-digit deficit to take down the 4-time defending 3A champions in Andale. Cheney moves on with a 28-24 win.
The Wichita area saw multiple teams punch tickets to state title games including Kapaun Mt. Carmel in 5A, Andover Central in 4A, Derby in 6A, Conway Springs in 1A and more.
