McLOUTH, Kan. (KAKE) - The Kansas Highway Patrol says a 34-year-old man died Wednesday after falling off a trash truck in Jefferson County. 

The accident happened at around 3:20 p.m. near Lake Dabinawa in rural McLouth, which is about 12 miles north of Lawrence. The patrol reports the trash truck was negotiating a curve on Saratoga Drive when Patrick Anthony Jones fell from the rear passenger side of the vehicle.

Jones, of Perry, Georgia, died at the scene. The driver and passenger were unharmed.
