OTTAWA COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) - A magnitude 4.0 earthquake rattled a part of north central Kansas Friday evening.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake hit around 6:20 p.m. Friday. The quake was centered about one mile north of Bennington.

Data from the USGS shows that there had been two recent seismic events in the area: a magnitude 2.4 quake centered about two miles north of Bennington, and a 3.4 quake centered about 1.2 miles north of Bennington. Both of these earthquakes occurred last Friday.

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says there have been no reports of damage or injuries.
