UPDATE: The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating a couple of crashes on different ends of Wichita. 

The first crash happened just before 5:15 a.m. Friday on northbound I-235 near the westbound K-96 exit. The KHP reports a 25-year-old man driving a Ford Ranger drove into the right ditch. The vehicle rolled and the driver was ejected. The man was sent to a local hospital with suspected serious injuries. 

Shortly after, a non-injury crash happened at the same site involving two other vehicles. 

A second pair of crashes then happened around 5:50 a.m. Friday in far east Wichita. Emergency dispatcher say no one is hurt in the first crash at K-96 and U.S. 54, but one person was sent to the hospital with serious injuries following a secondary crash in the same spot.

It is not immediately known what led up to any of the crashes. 

Emergency crews ask drivers to avoid both areas as crews investigate.


WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - One person is critically hurt in a rollover crash in northwest Wichita.

The crash happened just before 5:15 a.m. Friday on I-235 near the Meridian exit. Emergency crews are on scene trying to take care of the victim. 

Shortly after the rollover a second crash happened in the same spot involving two other vehicles. Emergency dispatchers say currently no one is hurt in the second crash. They are asking people to avoid the area while crews investigate.
