WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A man is in critical condition after what was initially reported as a shots fired call in east Wichita on Tuesday.

Wichita police said they were dispatched to the Red Roof Inn at Kellogg and Armour Dr. for a shots fired call. When officers arrived they found one victim with head injuries but was not shot. 

Witnesses told police there were shots fired but no one was hit. 

It is believed that an argument had escalated into a fight and the victim had been hit in the head. 

Police have one person in custody and are continuing to investigate the incident.
