Wichita man arrested on multiple charges including kidnapping, sex crimes

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita police have arrested a 59-year-old parolee on more than a half-dozen charges including kidnapping and rape.
Sedgwick County Jail records show Frio Johnson was booked Sunday afternoon for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, aggravated kidnapping, flee or attempt to elude, obstruction, possession of marijuana and a parole violation.
"Due to the sensitivity of this case involving a minor, there will be no additional information released on this case," Wichita police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said.
Johnson was held without bond Monday morning. Gupilan said investigators will be presenting this case to the Sedgwick County district attorney's office.
Kansas Department of Corrections records show Johnson is on parole for convictions in 1991 of aggravated robbery and kidnapping. He was last released from prison in March of 2020.
