WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A 44-year-old Valley Center man has died following a crash on Interstate 135 in north Wichita early Monday.

It happened at around 12:30 a.m. on northbound I-135 near the city's north junction. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a 2020 Jeep Wrangler went off the road to the left and struck a KDOT construction sign and a guardrail. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its right side.

The driver, Jason Sutcliffe, was the only person in the vehicle and died at the scene. The patrol's online crash log states he was not wearing a seat belt.

It's unclear what caused Sutcliffe's vehicle to go off the roadway.

A GoFundMe has been established to help with funeral expenses.
