WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A district advisory board heard from residents who are frustrated about this unfinished apartment complex at 21st Street North and 127th East. The complex sits next to a neighborhood of luxury homes whose owners are tired of the eyesore.

The project began in 2020 but is still sitting unfinished. The city says it recently met with the builder and issued a temporary extension of the building permit to give the company time to fix a list of problems caused by years of building materials being exposed to the weather.

District 2 council member Becky Tuttle says the most extreme option would be a very long legal process to try to condemn the building. And the best solution is for the builder to simply finish the project. But residents don't agree.
