WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A Wichita man has died after being struck by a vehicle on the city's southeast side Sunday night.

At approximately 8:35 p.m. Sunday, police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Lincoln and Sylvan Street for a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. On arrival, officers located the victim unconscious and not breathing. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by EMS, the Wichita Police Department said in a release Monday morning.

An investigation on the incident revealed the victim was walking eastbound on the south side of Lincoln in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old man from Andover who was traveling eastbound on Lincoln.

WPD says that neither speed nor impairment are believed to be contributing factors in the collision.
