WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) UPDATE - One man has died and a woman has been injured after a shooting in west Wichita early Sunday morning.

At around 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the 4000 block of West Memory Lane, officers were dispatched for a report of shots being fired.

Officers who arrived on scene located 19-year-old male Zyles James in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds. James was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.  

Another female victim was found with a graze wound to the arm. The Wichita Police Department says she was transported to a local hospital, treated for her injury and released.

The Wichita Police Department said in a release Sunday afternoon that investigators are still working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and the relationship between the victim and the suspect.

Police are looking for possible two male suspects. "Possibly looking for a sedan-type vehicle... light in color."

Around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning, in the 4000 block of West Memory Lane, officers arrived on scene for reports of shots fired.

Officers who arrived on scene located a 19-year-old male lying in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds. EMS then transported him to the hospital. Life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The woman hurt is expected to be okay.

So far in the investigation, officers are looking for at least two suspects, who they believe are involved in this incident.

"They were seen last running kind of into the neighborhood from the West from here. So certainly as residents are checking maybe their Ring doorbells or any cameras they have.. if they have any video of such maybe of a vehicle leaving quickly from area... we'd love to be in contact with them," Captain Ronald Hunt with the Wichita Police Department said.

"It's just a tragic and senseless situation, in which a young man has now lost his life," Capt. Hunt added.
