WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita Public Schools says police have given the all-clear at Heights High School after an unattended backpack was discovered Friday morning. 

A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said WPD responded at 10:22 a.m. to a need assistance call at the school located near 53rd Street North and Hillside. USD 259 spokesperson Susan Arensman she said the front entrance was closed off while police investigated. 

Arensman said there was no lock-out or lockdown while police were there. She said in a follow-up email to KAKE News at 11:22 a.m. that police gave the all-clear and that, "Everything is good."

The district revealed a short time later that the incident involved an unattended backpack.
