Police: Woman dead in Augusta homicide

AUGUSTA, Kan. (KAKE) - What was first thought to be an unattended death in Augusta has now been ruled a homicide.
The Augusta Department of Public Safety said that on Sunday evening they were called to what was originally thought to be an unattended death in the 1700 block of Robbins St. When officers arrived they found 93-year-old Joanne Johnson dead. After preliminary investigation, the death was ruled a homicide that happened sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday evening.
The Augusta DPS has not released a cause of death and no suspects have been identified.
