Wichita woman dies after being hit by car, police say
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A south Wichita intersection was closed for several hours while detectives investigated a deadly vehicle vs pedestrian crash.
The Wichita Police Department said that at 2:45 a.m. police found 66-year-old Gwendolyn Erhardt unresponsive and not breathing at the intersection of Meridian and MacArthur. Erhardt was pronounced dead at the scene.
After an initial investigation, police discovered that Erhardt was crossing the road when she was hit by a 70-year-old man driving a 2007 Buick Lacrosse.
The investigation is ongoing.
