MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. (KAKE) - U.S. Navy aircraft and sailors from the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Fla. have been relocated to McConnell Air Force Base due to Hurricane Idalia, a representative for the air force base announced Tuesday. 

Due to the projected path and intensity of Hurricane Idalia, the Navy has ordered all ships and aircraft at Florida bases in the path of the storm to relocate. 

Approximately 40 sailors and several P-8A Poseidon aircraft are expected to arrive at McConnell Tuesday afternoon, Chief of Public Affairs for McConnell AFB, John Van Winkle said in a release.
