GODDARD, Kan. (KAKE) - The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office confirms searchers have found the body of a 25-year-old man who was reported missing from Goddard on Monday.

Lt. Nathan Gibbs said a search party found Aaron Kerschen's body under a tree near 183rd Street West and Central (4th Street North) on Tuesday. His death is being investigated as a suicide, Gibbs said.

"Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support. Thanks to volunteer searchers, Aaron’s body was found last night near my parents home in Goddard," Aaron's sister said on behalf of the family. "There are no words for our grief. Aaron was a joyful and beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. Please pray for us and the repose of Aaron’s soul. We are so unbelievably blessed with our community and the outpouring of love we have received. 'May the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.'"
