WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Hamburger chain Jack in the Box said last year that the chain plans to open around two dozen locations in the Wichita area, and the company is seeking franchisees to help make that happen.

Van Ingram, vice president of franchise recruitment, told the Wichita Business Journal in 2022 that the company's goal is to open 20 to 25 locations within the next five years in the metro area.

For perspective, there are roughly two dozen McDonald's franchises in the immediate Wichita area today.
Jack in the Box's franchising website lists the following reasons to invest in a Wichita location:
  • Centralized location: The region of Wichita encompasses 27% of the population in Kansas.
  • Economic drivers: Economy driven by aerospace, military, education, and healthcare.
  • Growth and development: City has room for growth in emerging and existing markets.
  • 24-hour workforce: Solid workforce within manufacturing, industrial, and logistics fields.
  • Demographics: Market fits the preferred Jack in the Box demographic profile.
  • Real estate: Availability of prime real estate throughout the state.
