Thomas Robinson to join Kansas alumni TBT team

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The Basketball Tournament has announced that power forward Thomas Robinson will join the roster of Mass Street, the University of Kansas alumni team.
Robinson and Mass Street will compete in the Wichita Super Regional, a 16-team event also featuring AfterShocks, the Wichita State alumni team, at Koch Arena July 19-23.
Robinson played at Kansas from 2009-12, helping the Jayhawks win three Big 12 regular season championships, two Big 12 tournament championships, and lead the team to the NCAA tournament championship game in 2012.
In Robinson’s final year in Lawrence, he was named Big 12 Player of the Year, consensus first-team All-American, and first-team All-Big 12.
Robinson was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and spent five seasons in the NBA before embarking on a career overseas. Robinson most recently played in Puerto Rico.
Robinson joins Keith Langford and Tyshawn Taylor as commitments for the Mass Street roster. NBA players and former Kansas forwards Markieff and Marcus Morris will serve as the coaches for Mass Street. Additional player announcements will continue to be made on the team’s Twitter and Instagram accounts @MassStreetTBT, in addition to TBT’s Twitter, @thetournament.
Mass Street’s first-round game will be Wednesday, July 19. If they were to advance, their second-round game would be Saturday, July 22.
