Police arrest 2 suspects after Salina man's body found

SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) - Salina police have arrested two people in connection to the death of a 40-year-old man whose body was found two weeks ago.
Police Capt. Gary Hanus said 36-year-old Johnathan Mullen and 39-year-old Kelly Luthi, both of Salina, were charged Friday with first-degree murder. Luthi also faces a charged of aiding and abetting.
Jason Latham's body was found in 1900 block of North 5th Street on the morning of May 8. Police said in a previous release that it appeared he had been dead for days.
Capt. Hanus said Monday that detectives were able to establish that the case was a homicide. The motive and cause of Latham's death were not released.
Kansas Department of Corrections records show Luthi is on parole for drug convictions and offender registration violations. He also has priors that include burglary and attempted battery. He was last paroled in September 2022.
