WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Prosecutors have charged a Wichita man in the death of a 22-month-old child last year. 

Calvin Vick, 26, was charged Monday with first-degree murder and aggravated child endangerment. Wichita police said officers responded the night of June 21 to a local hospital where the child was unresponsive. The baby, whose name has not been released, died of fentanyl toxicity, lab tests showed. 

Vick was arrested Thursday by the Wichita Police Department's Special Investigations Bureau Community Response Team.

Vick remains jailed on $100,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for June 16.

A Wichita man has been arrested for allegedly killing a child in June of 2022.

The Wichita Police Department said that at 10:40 p.m. on June 21, 2022, officers were called to a local hospital where a 22-month-old child had been taken. The child had arrived unresponsive and pronounced dead. Lab tests show the child died from fentanyl toxicity.

After the labs results returned, an arrest warrant was issued from 26-year-old Calvin Vick who was taken into custody on Thursday by the Special Investigations Bureau Community Response Team.
