WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - Wichita, Kansas has been named one of the nation's best 2023 summer travel destinations by WalletHub

The report ranked Wichita No. 4 ahead of the metro areas of New York City, Chicago, Tampa and Orlando. WalletHub compared 100 metro areas across the U.S. with 41 key metrics. 

The Air Capital ranked 7th for travel costs and hassles, 6th for local costs, 76th for attractions, 33rd for weather, 91st for activities and 5th for safety.

Visit Wichita says that with the Sunflower Summer Program this year, K-12 students can get into 15 local attractions for free including the Sedgwick County Zoo, Exploration Place, the Museum of World Treasures and more.
