GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - A 21-year-old man from Garden City was arrested in connection to multiple car theft incidents. 

Jose Razo was arrested on the following charges:

  • Two counts of auto theft.
  • Five counts of auto burglary.
  • One count of possession of stolen property. 
  • One count of interfering with a law enforcement officer. 
  • One count of criminal trespass. 

At about 10:30 p.m. on May 7, police say they were sent to 4101 E. Highway 50 for a car theft that had just happened. The people who reported the alleged crime told officers they were followed home by a pickup, and someone in the pickup stole their car.

On May 8, officers found the stolen car in the 500 block of Chesterfield Drive. Officers then found the pickup involved in the car theft in the nearby area. It was then discovered that the pickup was also stolen and Razo was identified as the suspect. Officers later found Razo hiding in a garage in the 500 block of Eugene Place. After a brief struggle, Razo was taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
