California man dies in police shootout after driving to Utah to kill his brother
NORTH OGDEN, Utah (KAKE) - A California man is dead after he was caught on camera shooting and killing his estranged brother in Utah.
Ring doorbell video captured the moment of the shooting. Authorities said 66-year-old Jeffrey Roberts drove from Long Beach, California to his brother's house in North Ogden, Utah.
Scott Roberts opened the front door, had a brief conversation, and then Jeffrey allegedly began shooting. Scott's wife was in the house and was also shot but survived.
Neighbors said they heard the gunshots and called police. When authorities arrived, Roberts began shooting at them.
Officers returned fire, killing Roberts. Roberts reportedly used road flares to set fire to his brother's house.
The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time.
