Wichita driver who killed pedestrian gets 3 years probation for DUI, leaving the scene

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A 30-year-old Wichita woman will serve three years of probation for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident in connection to the death of a pedestrian in 2021.
Hayley Wilkinson pled guilty on Dec. 9 of 2022 to a DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. Her sentence includes an underlying sentence of 34 months in prison and 6 months in jail if she violates her probation.
The incident happened at around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Police said previously that Wilkinson was driving on East Douglas near Edgemoor when she hit 44-year-old John Eyster.
Officers at the time discovered Wilkinson driving erratically in the 100 block of South Woodlawn Ct.
