Patrol: Kansas man dies after pickup hits trees, goes airborne

GREAT BEND, Kan. (KAKE) - A 76-year-old man has died after his pickup truck crashed in central Kansas on Wednesday.
The accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. at NW 10th Road and NW 100th Avenue in Barton County. That's about seven miles west of Great Bend. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a Toyota Tacoma was heading east when it went off the road and into a ditch. The pickup then struck multiple trees and went airborne over a dry creek bed and landed on its wheels.
The driver, Richard Reichuber of Hoisington, was taken to a local hospital where he died. The patrol's online crash log states he was not wearing a seat belt.
It's unclear what caused Reichuber's vehicle to go off the road.
