Kansas lawmakers legalize fentanyl test strips
TOPEKA, Kan. (KAKE) - Kansas Lawmakers have voted to make the use of fentanyl test strips legal.
The test strips are used to detect whether drugs contain the deadly drug fentanyl.
The state saw the number of deaths from fentanyl more than double between 2020 and 2021.
Supporters of the strips say they would help slow down those deaths, while others say they would only encourage more drug use.
The bill now goes to the governor's desk.
