Oklahoma Highway Patrol
OKLAHOMA CITY (KAKE) - An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper pulled over a driver caught going nearly double she speed limit on a turnpike in Oklahoma City.
KOCO reports the driver was clocked at 135 mph in a 70 mph zone on the Turner Turnpike. The woman driving the speeding SUV told the trooper she was going so fast because she was late for work.
"But there's no excuse to drive that fast, endangering lives on the roadway," OHP said in a Facebook post.
The driver was cited for reckless driving, which will cost her over $500.
