Kansas teacher arrested again, this time for child sex crimes

HERINGTON, Kan. (KAKE) - Kansas authorities say a 61-year-old school teacher has been arrested again, this time for child sex crimes.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Russell Thomas was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. at a home in the 400 block of Union Road in Herington. He was booked into the Dickinson County Jail for battery and three counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.
Thomas was also arrested last month for aggravated intimidation of a witness in connection to the investigation, the details of which have not been released.
USD 487's website lists Thomas as a Herington Middle School science teacher.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says that just before 1 p.m. on April 12, 61-year-old Russell L. Thomas was arrested for aggravated intimidation of a witness.
The crime is alleged to have occurred on April 7. Thomas is a teacher at Herington USD.
Thomas was booked into the Dickinson County Jail. His bond was set at $50,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
