Multimedia Journalist

Nick grew up in the small Midwestern town of Newell, South Dakota. After graduating high school, he attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion to study Media, Journalism, and Political Science.

Nick first became interested in journalism while traveling to Washington D.C. with his high school. The powerful media presence in our nation's capital sparked Nick’s interest in journalism as a career. Shortly after, Nick started as a news intern at South Dakota Public Broadcasting.

Nick has covered many stories about the Lakota people, including a presidential forum involving several 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. After graduating from USD in 2020, he moved to Rapid City, SD where he anchored and reported for KOTA-TV. From there, Nick came to Wichita to join KAKE News.

Nick loves Wichita’s vibrancy and the familiar Midwestern feel. With the support of his fellow journalists at KAKE, Nick is excited to improve his storytelling abilities and discover what makes Wichita (and the state of Kansas) such a special place. He’s ready to be On Your Side.

Outside of work, Nick enjoys playing golf, seeing movies, cooking, and listening to music, particularly alt-rock.
