Governor Kelly recognizes Trans Day of Visibility, promises to 'protect your rights'

TOPEKA, Kan. (KAKE) - Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has signed a proclamation recognizing Trans Day of Observation.
"As your governor, I will continue to stand up for all Kansans to protect your rights and call out any behavior that aims to discriminate and divide," Kelly said in her tweet.
She signed a proclamation on March 31 urging Kansas to join her in the observation.
"Trans Day of Observation acknowledges and celebrates transgender and non-binary people around the world and their determination to live openly and authentically," Kelly said in her proclamation.
