TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (KAKE) - A Louisiana man who raped a child under the age of 13 has been sentenced to 35 years in prison and is required to be chemically castrated.

The Tangipahoa Parish district attorney's office said that along with the sentence, Ryan Clark was also ordered to not contact the victim, register as a sex offender for life and forfeit all parental rights to all children.

Clark plead guilty earlier this month to to second-degree rape, molestation of a juvenile and sexual battery.

WDSU reports the sheriff's office was made aware of the incidents in July 2020 and Clark was arrested that month. The victim reported the behavior had taken place for over a year.
