WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - A west Wichita QuikTrip is cleaning up after an SUV crashed into its front doors early Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 4:45 a.m. at the Maple and West convenience store. Witnesses told police the driver was speeding before they say he deliberately turned into the store, crashed through the doors and ended all the way inside the store.

Sgt. John Bogle said, "A customer in his early 30s was hit by some shelves that was pushed out of the way by the vehicle."

The customer had minor injuries and the driver was taken into custody.

Police are investigating whether the driver was impaired. They believe the crash caused at least $10,000 in damage.
