GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KAKE) - A GoFundMe has been set up for 16-year-old Cassandra Linder of Garden City.

Linder was killed when a tractor-trailer crashed head-on into her car in southwest Kansas.

A 16-year-old girl was killed Monday when a tractor-trailer crashed head-on into her car in southwest Kansas. 

The accident happened at around 4:15 p.m. on U.S. 50 near North Campus Drive in northeast Garden City. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a westbound semi went left of center and crashed head-on into an eastbound Fiat 500. 

The teen driving the Fiat, 16-year-old Cassandra Linder of Garden City, was taken to a local hospital where she died.

The 35-year-old Garden City man driving the semi was hospitalized for treatment of minor injuries. It's unclear what caused his rig to veer into oncoming traffic.
