WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - The owner of a Wichita liquor store wants the man who robbed him at gunpoint caught before someone gets hurt or even killed.

The video is frightening. You see a man walk into Power Liquor at the corner of Central and Madison are 9:00 p.m. on the night of January 19. That man pulls a gun and demands money from the owner. You see the owner hand over the cash and the crook leaves.

He declined an on-camera request but says it was terrifying.

"I feel bad because that's his business you know, you don't know how hard that man worked to do that to him, it's not right," said Gary Spires, a Power Liquor customer.

Spires says he goes to Power Liquor all the time, he can't believe someone would be so bold.

"Kinda surprised me when you said I was like man, so," he said.

Wichita police hope the video will help someone recognize the armed robber.

"Definitely escalated the situation could have been a lot worse, the clerk acted appropriately, gave the man what he wanted, and got a good description," Crime Stoppers Coordinator Trevor Macy.

Police say you never want to put yourself at risk, no amount of money is worth your life.

The man is described as a black man, in his 30's 6'0 tall, and about 100-120 pounds. He was wearing a black puffy coat with fur on the hood. He also had a mask and gloves on.
