WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) - During the pandemic, many Kansas residents took advantage of the emergency SNAP benefits to help feed their families.

The benefits will be ending at the end of this month leaving many families concerned about how they will survive.

The new average benefit for Kansans receiving SNAP will be $6 per person per day.

Kansas Apple Seed's Haley Kottler said once the emergency benefits go away families should prepare themselves by using local pantries for assistance.
