SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) – Three people from Salina have been arrested in connection to a shooting that killed one person and injured two others in 2022. 

Police say that following a lengthy investigation, Dalton Palmer, Dakota Bunting, and Tataum Escamilla were all arrested.

Palmer, a 29-year-old, was arrested on charges of:

  • First-degree murder.
  • Attempted first-degree murder.
  • Criminal discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle. 

Bunting, a 24-year-old, was arrested on charges of:

  • Voluntary manslaughter.
  • Criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Unlawful possession of marijuana. 

Escamilla, a 19-year-old, was arrested on charges of:

  • First-degree murder.
  • Attempted first-degree murder. 

At the time in 2022, officers responded at around 3:20 a.m. to reports of shots fired in 40the 0 block of South College Avenue. They found no one at the scene. A few minutes later, police were called to a local hospital after two shooting victims, an 18-year-old woman and 25-year-old Dylan Eugene Garman, arrived in the emergency room.

Garman would eventually die at the hospital. 

Shortly after the two victims arrived at the hospital, officers were sent to the 500 block of East Cloud Street for a report of a person lying in a yard. They arrived to find a 23-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds.
